Mentoring & Coaching

We draw a clear distinction between mentoring and coaching. A successful and effective mentor will be able to recognise and unlock people’s real potential as well as providing knowledge, advice and information concerning a role or new career opportunity.  In the case of coaching, we fundamentally believe in the principle that our clients are resourceful and our role is work with them to develop that resourcefulness. It’s not about giving advice and potentially creating dependency.

Critical to the types of positive outcomes we hope to develop with our clients will be the strength of the relationships. We believe relationship is the central vehicle for learning and change and we aim to develop a detailed understand of the organisational context within which the client is operating and how this impacts upon the coaching relationship. In building this relationship confidentiality is paramount and although we will use a number of techniques to help the client arrive at positive outcomes from resolving issues, the main mechanism we use is the Being and Doing Model of Coaching.

The green field will work with clients across the spectrum of directive and non-directive interventions and although not wedded to any particular coaching “school” will use the “G.R.O.W” model to help the process of questioning and goal setting.

Although a service that is offered to all its clients, the green field is particularly structured to assist the individuals comprising tightly defined management teams in fast-moving, high-growth start-ups and SMEs that often characterise the interactive media sector.

The green field operates within the European Mentoring & Coaching Council Ethical Code.
